What I learned from diigo has a very positive effect on my career. With diigo I am able to bookmark things and go back to them in the toolbar. things that are highlighted are still there and can placed in the forum which is gret as it allows my team members to also see the work I was doing. overall diigo is a very handy tool for school, work or individually.

With Blooms taxonomy the main key idea is that it gets more specifiv as you move up the triangle so something like rememeber is great for students and then to feed off the infomation in powerpoints also helps greatly.as I stated before remember is just the bottom level and its about stating fats but as you move uo the more complex it becomes such as understand, apply, analyze evaluate create.

The site that one can stay on top of teacher educational change would be reddit with reddit there are mutiple sub reddits for teacher education which is important. the more varied with infomation the better informed a teacher can be. https://www.reddit.com/

ilp 2

My Ilp2 is on the benefit of reddit as a personal learning network. the reason why I choose this is because of the versatility of the website and the functions of it. This website is like twitter in the fact that you can make an account and interact with others. Which is imporatant as a teacher to be able to connect with others and share and spread ideas. Overall reddit and its many subreddits on education is a great personal learning network to have.

My experience with twitter is rather low. Truth be told I constanly forget to check twitter as I do my other social media. I am not having any issue with twitter I persoanlly feel twitter is not really the best method of connecting and understanding new educational ideas and topics. I feel as though reddit or facebook would be easier and better as a method.

I liked the web design assigment a lot I could see mysellf using this in the future the design was simple and easy. Also a ket aspect of it for me was that it was fun building my website and tailoring it as I would want a website to be. This can be very useful for future teachers or students. Overall I loved this task. https://jamalclassroom.weebly.com/

I think the two kind of technology we learbed in class is great for any student as one is more geared to adatping to the student and the other more so to the enviroment the student is in. As spoken about in class simple everyday features such as spell check is a great technology that we never really thought to hard about and instead just used. So I think assistive and adaptive technologies would be used greatly in my classroom.

teacher pages are very important in the make up of a school's website. its important to show how credible a teacher is by putting up their credentials. Another important aspect is what the teacher stands for and what they are about. I say this because it is good to have a general idea about what that teacher likes and focused in. the teacher page I used was dr doug guifrrida of the university of rochester his page is excellent because it shows his crediblity as a proffesor and his studies.  https://www.warner.rochester.edu/facultystaff/who/guiffrida

the way i see myself using technology in a way that can benefit me is by using it in a class to keep myself organized in a manner that can help me get my class prioties in order. another way is by having technology as a source of infomation that can help me.

the technology used yhere can be great in a classroom. for example the 3-d printers could be printed out and show a brain this would be great for a pyshcology class as you can externally see a brain and label the parts as opposed to just seeing it on a screen. and another interesting facet of the technology there would be the tools that can be used to help children code. That is a good tool because coding is going to be a huge part of our technology based future

My first reaction to using diigo was more so of confusion because I did not exactly know what it was because I never heard of it before. but after being introduced to the subject in class I understand it much better in fact when we did the diigo for the gica I really understood the applications that diigo can have as I can search for articles and then highlight and comment on them so I can keep my thoughts together.

before this class I have never did  a blog I always figured for it to not be my thing  the thought of conveying my thoughts and feelings onto the web. its never really been something I was into but slowly by commenting and reading other peoples blogs it helps to create a nice perspective on what others do and how they feel. I have learned throuhout the process better skills on transfering internal ideas onto paper.

a nice web 2.0 tool that would be good for teahcing and education would be skype I never really used skype in my elementary or middle school career and in fact I didnt even use it in high school but whenI entered college mainly my senior year zoom was an important aspect of what was needed because with skype I was able to talk to teachers that are online as well as learn and with graduate school interviews skype was the method of choice used for interviews between me and advisors and professors so my review of skype is a high one due to hit being rather easy to use with a solid user interface.

ILP#1 Design-prezi

voicethread

Prezi

overall this project made me think different when looking at how to present my ideas and lessons plans. with a prezi I was able to clearly label my ideas and seperate them into different parts. the infomation in the prezi was in an easy to follow manner and I think that is beneficial for any grade level when presenting a new topic that could be hard. With the prezi however evertything was very simple and fun to do. I would recommend all teachers to try a prezi atleast once. The voice thread is also a nice gadget to use because it articulates your ideas into a voice so if the student can not understand what point your getting at, well with your voice you can present  the topic in a different manner  and have the student understand it that way. I never used or heard of voicethread before this class but now that I know about it if I become a teacher I could see myself using it.

LAFS.1112.L.3.4   Determine or clarify the meaning of unknown and multiplemeaning words and phrases based on grades 11–12 reading and content, choosing flexibly from a range of strategies this standard is used to test and provide a baseline for a students skillset in english. This is important because being able to intrepet literature and understand context clues goes a long way espcailly seeing as this is a 11th and 12th grade class meaning mastering these standards will set them on a good path towards college or the immediate work forcce

the resource that I would use in my classroom would be the 9-12 grade resurces mainly the ones focused on social studies, The CPALMS educator toolkit is a great toolkit because it has many resouces that are helpful in teaching and can branch and form more ideas another great feature  of it is the lesson plans that are also in the CPALMS  this is beneficial as it can give a guideline on how to teach a material.

the skills that I have acquired from the newsletter design are beneficial as well because it challenegd me to use  things that I would normally never use in microsoft word such as creating a banner or page page border. this assigmment has also made me think in a more artful manner. which is something I do struggle with so with assigment it made me a better student by pushing me to think differently

My expeirence using MS Word as a studnet started off in middle school but not as frequently used when compared to today. for example when I was in 6th grade most of my assigments that involved writing took place on paper and not so much with ms word. then when I got older and into highschool that is when MS word became more popular and used and I felt kind of behind the learning curve when it came to using it because I didnt have much expeirnece or knew how to use it effectevly. Now however as a senior about to graduate I feel much better about my compentency using word.

The way I would try to work around and with copyright and fairuse is by first trying to come up with something original. or use something that doesnt break that rule for example I can not scan a few page copies of a textbook and especially if it is expansive I can not buy it for the whole classroom however I can teach from the textbook and put it on a projecter that does not break any law so thats how I could use it. And I could have a student create their own work.

the two that i choose from the list would be academic dishonesty and lack of funding for the academic hishonesty side I would use computer programs that prohibit outside help such as having a webcam feature to watch and a feature that blocks out other internet sources that I believe that would help defer academic dishonesty. and for lack of funding I think if we could show the impact that schools have when they have more money verses school with little money in their funding then we can show the effects that mney has in developing better students.

ISTE JOURNAL 1

I believe that K-12 teachers are influenced more to use technology in the classroom because of the shift in the use of technology throughout the years within this generation especially  as the years go by for example when comparing my school experience  the earliest I can think back was probably first grade and within that year I didnt really use much technology at all and then now when I shadowed a first grade class  all I saw was the kids using tablets or watching videos describing things. However my question is teaching easier now with the help of technology or is it the same difficulty wise as earlier days without much technology.

I think the ISTE standards for eduacators that really resonante with me would be leadership because when I think about the process used it is broken down to being a way for educators to link with tech shareholders and those that have power to shape the future of education and this is important in establishing how students can be affected by the trickle down effect of others. another major aspect is the use of lobbying to educational leaders for the use of more diversity in education. overall leadership is a major role that should be utilized because it affects a lot of how our edcuation and well technology is distrubuted along schools.

I agree with the term digital native becuase it truly is a different time and era more then before it is revolutionary in fact by the way that technology has become relevant in everything that youths do today and well adults as well. This brings me to the video that was used in class showing the changes in teaching from back to the 1800's where education was simply taught by a mother or the transition of that to being in a class with little to no use of outside soursces and now it is purely technology. the role of school has always been to prepare kids or anyone for the job and future ahead so being a digital native is no different because we need those skills. in my opinion I feel like I am in a weird bubble because I was intergrated into technology from kindergarten to possibly 3rd or 4th grade we didnt use technology all too much and then when i started to get in higher grades the technology shift happened and i started to use more gadgets and widgets in a classroom setting. and the new generation kind of already have this change so I think it will be a snowball effect of just more and more technology used.

first blog

My name is Jamal and I am a senior ready to graduate school and then move on to more school. I plan on being a mental health counselor and the track to that is with Grad school. Some fun facts about me are I enjoy playing sports like basketball and video games like smash brothers.I also like relaxing at home and of course sleeping. I have never made a blog before so this is certainly a new experience for me but I do like trying new things at least once so this should be a fun and interesting time for sure.

My prior experience using technology in the classroom was just limited to basic things such as a laptop to use word or to make power points. Overall my use of technology in the classroom is also rather low usage  besides just using those two things and an even more limited use of Excel which is strange seeing as we are in the age of technology but I am interested in seeing what this eme2040 class can teach me.

What I hope to learn however is how to become more skillful in using technology for educational purposes. I plan on going to Grad school so having this class right before I graduate and learn how to effectively use these Tools is really beneficial to me. I hope to make the most of the lessons taught in this class. Such as being more proficient in Excel and learn any tips or tricks when working in Word. I am glad you stayed to read my first blog and I hope we can all learn something new in this class.
